YOUR TRAVEL

You're coming by plane...

Austrian Airlines and British Airways fly from London Heathrow to Vienna. Ryanair flies from London Stansted. Tip: If you are choosing to fly via Austrian Airlines or British Airways, check the price difference between Economy and Business Class as sometimes there are phenomenal deals whereby you can pay £15 per person and fly in Business Class (which means extra luggage, priority check-in, lounge access, more space on the plane and a meal).

You want to know how to get from the airport to the centre of Vienna…

Vienna has very reliable and cost-effective transport. It has a City Airport Train (known as “CAT”) which costs EUR 14.90 per person – children up until 15 years old do not have to pay a fare. The CAT takes 16 minutes from the airport to reach Wien Mitte station. Wien Mitte station is a 13-minute walk to The Ritz-Carlton Vienna. If you do decide to take this route, the walk would be through the beautiful Stadtpark. If you wish to take an Uber or a taxi instead, you can order one while waiting in the airport.

You want to know where to stay in Vienna…

With the wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Vienna, they have offered a special rate with a discount due to Puja’s relationship with the hotel. Click on the button below to make your booking (and please note that that the special rate is time-bound and payment is required in advance of the stay).

Other hotels within 5 minutes walking distance of The Ritz-Carlton Vienna (and less expensive) include:

Motel One Wien-Staatsoper is around 10 minutes walking distance from The Ritz-Carlton Vienna.

We have not seen any of the rooms in the above hotels, so you’ll need to check out their website and reviews before booking to make sure that you’re happy with it.

You’re staying a few more days and want to know about how best to travel around Vienna…

You can buy a travel day-card at any of Vienna’s train/metro station for EUR 5.80 per day. This travel day-card would allow you to use the train/metro, tram and bus! You can click here to purchase a 24, 48 or 72 hours pass too.

Below is a map of some recommended restaurants and cafes for your time in Vienna! The map also includes the location of the venue and a few to the hotels mentioned above so that you can see their proximity to the wedding venue. To see a full size version of this map, click here.
